9:00 A.M.- 1.00 P.M. - only applicants with prior appointment (registration of US vital records, applications for Romanian citizenship, applications to renounce the Romanian citizenship)

Wednesday 9:00  A.M.- 1.00 P.M. - acces allowed until 12.30 P.M
Thursday 9:00 A.M. - 1.00 P.M. - acces allowed until 12.30 P.M. 
 Friday

9:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. - only applicants with prior appointment (registration of US vital records, applications for Romanian citizenship, applications to renounce the Romanian citizenship)

ATTENTION! The consular staff will not answer the phone during the working hours with the public. The applicants are required to leave a message including the complete name of the applicant, a telephone number where he / she may be contacted, the requested consular services and the state where the applicant has his / her residence.

For ROMANIAN VISA APPLICANTS there is no need to arrange an appointment for visa and for an interview at the Consulate. The applicants may come every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. - acces allowed until 12.30 P.M.

Public Holidays in Romania 

 In accordance with article 134 of the Labor Code (Law no. 53 /1996 as subsequently amended), the public holidays in Romania , when the governmental offices are closed, are:

  • New Year’s Day (January 1-2);
  • Easter Sunday and Monday;
  • Labor Day (May 1);
  • The Great Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of the God (August 15);
  • St. Andrew's Day (November 30);
  • National Day of Romania (December 1);
  • The first and the second day of Christmas;
  • 2 days for each of the two annual religious holidays, declared by the non-Christian religious denominations, for the persons following these beliefs.

In the United States of America the public holidays proclaimed by the federal government are:

  • New Year’s Day (January 1)
  • Martin Luther King Day (third Monday in January)
  • President Day (third Monday in February)
  • Memorial Day (last Monday in May)
  • Independence Day (July 4)
  • Labor Day (first Monday in September)
  • Columbus Day (second Monday in October)
  • Veterans Day (November 11)
  • Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November)
  • Christmas (December 25)

When New Year's Day, Independence Day, or Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, the next day is also a holiday. When one of these holidays falls on a Saturday, the previous day is also a holiday.
